MESSAGE FROM FOUNDER

Audraine Jackson

What goes through your mind when you hear the sound of an emergency siren in the background? Does it evoke fear of some impending danger? Do you instinctively think of a raging fire or bad car accident? What if it was a terrible crime in progress? When I hear a siren, I think of the many men and women who sacrifice their lives daily to rescue us during an emergency. I think of everyday heroes who are sworn to protect and serve. On September 11, 2001 some of these heroes lost their own lives in pursuit of serving others. That is why in 2002 I founded the September 11th First Responders Appreciation Program to annually show gratitude and recognize those everyday heroes who are often taken for granted. To the men and women of this nation who value human life and work daily to protect it, I salute you!
